Either way, all returned systems are put through certain tests to check that the system is fully functioning and is at a high enough level to be sold to customers. The main advantages of buying a refurbished system are that they are very cheap and are completely reliable, due to the tests that the systems endured to make sure that the systems were in fully working order. People are starting to realise the benefits of a refurbished system and starting to drift away from purchasing a new of used system.

The main alternatives to buying a refurbished computer are either purchasing the system new or used. A new system is as it is stated, yet can be costly to purchase. A refurbished system is much cheaper even though a new system holds no distinct advantages, and a refurbished system is just as reliable as a new system due to them being re-built and rid of any errors. Plus, due to refurbished systems going through extensive tests, they have been checked more thoroughly than a new system, meaning there is more of a chance of picking up an error on a new system because it may not have been spotted.

The other main alternative to a refurbished PC is purchasing a used system. A used system may work out being roughly the same price as a refurbished system and in some cases cheaper. However there are some glaring weaknesses to a used system, for example they could be an out-of-date system, whereas refurbished systems are still at the threshold of modern technology. Another weakness is that they are not reliable, which is the opposite of a refurbished system, due to the tests and repairs done to the systems.

Overall, there are different alternatives to a refurbished system available, yet these alternatives do not match up to what a refurbished system can offer, which is great value for money, a reliable system and up-to-date technology. These are the main reasons to buy a refurbished system instead of a new or used system and that is why you should buy a refurbished system.
