Adobe Media Player adding to Windows bloat

I allowed Adobe Media Player to automatically update yesterday, and noticed that he added to the list of applications that run automatically at startup (not asking, as I remember).

This AIR application and has a relatively large memory footprint, even when inactive, according to Task Manager. In addition, there are currently little value as far as I can tell; Adobe no doubt plans to be the next iTunes, but now there are only tiny selection of video on the proposal, some of whom report “is not in your territory” if you trying to play them.

You can stop the program from Windows, affecting the effectiveness is going to Options - Automatic notification and an option to automatically launch at startup and close the Adobe Media Player on your taskbar.

The Windows utility msconfig is great for identifying startup applications and shows you where they can be disabled. Stripping these down to a minimum can have a marked affect on performance.
